Arc welders are one type of welding machine which uses a power supply to create an electric arc between an electrode & the base material to melt the materials to a welding point. They use either DC or AC currents & either consumable or non consumable electrodes.

Used in many industries including fabrication, garage & workshop and generally for hobbies in areas such as cars.

Welding is potentially hazardous and precautions are required to avoid burns, electric shock, vision damage, inhalation of poisonous gases & intense uv radiation. So for safety a good welding helmet is needed along with welding gloves & heavy duty overalls.

Site Lights

Site Lights are high powered lights that come in varying sizes & can be used with varying power sources. Site lights get there name from there use, which is often on construction sites, hence site light. Available in varying sizes depending on the users needs, the four main ones being:

Floor Site Lights – small, lightweight & portable, floor site lights are perfect for smaller areas.
Fluorescent Site Lights – coming in many different shapes & sizes, these are a common solution to many lighting needs, all dependent on the end users needs.
Single Tripod Site Lights – Tall Site Lights on a tripod, perfect for construction sites. With adjustable height they can come in either 110v or 230v dependent on needs.
Twin Tripod Site Lights – The same as the single tripod, although with a twin this covers a much larger area for use.

Flood Lighting

Flood lights or flood lighting are powerful motion triggered lights that are wall mounted. Coming with a sensitivity detector, flood lighting is a good choice for outside lighting in winter months or a later night.

Which one you choose depends on your requirements for example a PIR or Passive Infa Red motion sensor which will detect movement with in a 180 degree angle and automatically turn the light on for a user set period of time. (handy when you can’t find your keys . . . or the lock)

To light larger areas, twin halogen floodlights are the best option. With powerful bulbs of up to 230watts, you’re guaranteed to find your way around.

With the winter months approaching & the dark nights it brings nearly upon us. Flood lights are a great addition.

SX0407 & VS2049 to Sweden!

We had our first order come in for SX0407 Damaged Glow Plug Removal & Cleaning Set & a VS2049 Bosch/Delphi Diesel Injector Puller to Sweden! Its very exciting after sending a Service Light & EPB Reset Tool To Australia.

The SX0407 is designed to remove damaged/broken glow plugs from cylinder heads.

While the VS2049 is suitable for the removal of stubborn Bosch/Delphi diesel injectors.

Wallpaper Steamers

Wallpaper steamers work by continuously heating water to produce steam. The steam then passes through a narrow tube creating a focused point. Its then held against a wallpapered wall, the steam goes through the paper, saturates the backing paper and weakening the wallpaper paste. Allowing the wallpaper to then be pulled or scraped away.

Lawn Mowers

Lawn mowers work using a revolving blade or blades to cut a lawn to an even length.

They generally come in three basic types:

Electric Lawn Mower – Either corded or cordless, the electric lawn mower is quieter than its petrol counterpart & also safer as it comes with a dead mans switch, which will immediately stop the motor when its not being operated.

Hand Lawn Mower – or sometimes called push lawn mower is a powerless lawnmower which works by being pushed, at which point rotating blades or a set of cylindrical blades turn cutting the grass. A real environmentally friendly garden mower.

Petrol Lawn Mowers – Although slightly louder than there electric counterpart, they offer portability & the ability to cover large distances in more rural areas.

Use of each one varies with the setting required, e.g a propane heater would be better in a bigger area, while a ceramic heater would usually be found in smaller or domestic settings.

Dehumidifers

This is Adam & we’ll be talking about dehumidifiers today. Dehumidifiers are a household appliance that reduces the level of humidity or moisture in the air. Humid air can cause mold and mildew to grow inside homes, leading to health risks. Dehumidifiers do this by sucking the moist air in & collecting the moisture, before sending fresh air out.

I myself live in a house which gets very damp in the winter months, I have two dehumidifiers, one for each floor of the house, they do a terrific job of reducing the moisture & especially the condensation that arises from having a humid house, they collect a full tank of water after seven or so hours & leave the air cleaner. There also quite energy efficient, so I have no fear of leaving one on during the day, although efficiency varies from model to model. The size of the units also make it very easy to tuck them away in corners so they don’t get in the way.A side note of these units is the noise, if left on when sleeping they sound just like a fan & thus very easy to get used to.

Hedge Trimmer

Hedge trimmers otherwise known as shrub trimmer or bush trimmer. Are a type of gardening tool used for cutting or pruning hedges or brushes. For the professional gardener or those with plenty of hedges to maintain these are a must.

Electric hedge trimmers are great for use in large areas where getting an electrical supply is scarce.

Petrol hedge trimmers are perfect for use in small areas or where there is a ready supply of electricity to fill it back up (in the case of cordless hedge trimmers)

OR for smaller gardens or the environmentally friendly minded, good old hedging shears are still worth every penny.
